At WCBVI Outreach, we’re passionate about empowering educators and families across Wisconsin with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to support students who are blind or visually impaired. As part of our statutory responsibility, we provide technical assistance and training to community partners throughout the state who work with students who are blind or visually impaired.
Whether you’re a teacher of students with visual impairments, orientation and mobility specialist, paraprofessional, family member, or administrator, our professional development is designed to be practical, inspiring, and deeply collaborative.
WCBVI provides a variety of professional development opportunities, in various formats. Previous opportunities have included:
- Tactile graphics workshops
- Virtual braille classes
- Professional Support Team meetings
- Virtual community of practices
- Mentoring program
- In-person, virtual, and resource documents related to important Department of Public Instruction and American Printing House for the Blind.
- Family and Professional Conference
WCBVI Outreach trainings change and evolve, based on data and feedback received from community partners.
