Hello WSBVI Families,
State Superintendent Carolyn Stanford Taylor issued a statement today regarding the Wisconsin Department of Health Services order under the direction of Gov. Tony Evers.
According to State Superintendent Carolyn Stanford Taylor, “The safety and health of our students, educators, and families remain of the highest importance.”
The Wisconsin School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (WSBVI) will close school for students beginning Monday, March 16, 2020 until at least Friday, April 3, 2020. Please note that transportation will not take place on Sunday, March 15, 2020.
Currently, school is expected to reopen Monday, April 6, 2020, with an anticipated transportation date of Sunday, April 5, 2020, for residential students. However, Gov. Tony Evers mandated that the return date is subject to change. We will be in touch regarding potential alternative learning opportunities and other details.
The DPI remains in constant communication with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and the Wisconsin Department of Administration as we continue monitoring this evolving situation.
Thank you very much for your patience and understanding as we work through this unprecedented time together.
