Residential Life

Students who stay on the WCBVI campus during the week are housed in gender segregated dormitories.  While staying on campus, students have access to the computer labs, gymnasium, laundry facilities, lounges, swimming pool, weight room, our recreation room called “The Badger’s Den,” and the beautiful outdoor areas on our grounds.

We realize how hard it is for parents to allow their sons and daughters to attend school away from home.  Our staff makes every effort to get to know each child and provide comfort, encouragement, help, and reassurance.

Residential placement can be determined by the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team if the student would benefit from the many activities and social experiences that are available while staying on campus.

Child Care Counselors

Child Care Counselors (CCCs) provide a safe, caring, home-like environment for students while meeting their individual needs.  CCCs encourage the development of age appropriate social skills while supporting the goals being worked on in school, including daily living skills, orientation and mobility, and technology.

CCCs encourage each child to be as independent as possible and reach their full potential.  Child Care Counselors are on duty Sunday nights from 7:30pm to 7:30am and Monday through Thursday from 2:30pm to 7:30am.
