Welcome to WCBVI Outreach
Serving Families, Vision Professionals, and Students
The Outreach Team includes consultants, specialists, and teachers for students who are blind or visually impaired in the areas of preschool, orientation and mobility, braille or tactile communication, low vision, students with multiple disabilities, transition, and all areas of the Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC). For a list of Outreach Team members and vision support staff, visit the Outreach Contacts page. All Outreach consultants and vision professionals are independent of the child’s Individualized Educational Program (IEP) or Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) teams.
In conjunction with local education agencies, schools, and parents of students who are blind or visually impaired, the WCBVI Statewide Outreach Team provides assessments, consultations, and instruction in areas of the expanded core curriculum (ECC). These services are of no cost to the families or school districts that request them, and are provided by highly trained vision professionals working to support access to learning for Wisconsin students. To find out more about the purpose of WCBVI, please visit the Wisconsin State Legislature.
