Five students aged 15-21 years old learned to appreciate the outdoors
by participating in a two and a half day rustic camping experience near
Hayward. The curriculum was planned by seven aspiring outdoor educators
who attend Northland College in Ashland, WI.
Three WCBVI staff supervised the trip. The students hiked through the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, put up tents and slept outdoors, paddled a Voyageur canoe, explored a bog, cooked outdoors over a campfire and harvested leaves for tea making!
