Dave Hyde is the professional development coordinator, the parent liaison for families with student under fourteen years of age, and the coordinator of the Adult Summer Program at WCBVI. He graduated from Oregon State University in Psychology in 1975, with an emphasis in social psychology. He attended graduate school at Western Oregon University in Correctional Administration. His work experience has included correctional counseling, sales, outreach for the Oregon State Library’s Talking book and Braille Services, technology instructor and other positions at the Colorado Center for the blind, prior to beginning work in Wisconsin.
He has served as a local union president and shop steward, president of a fraternal organization, and for thirty-six years on the boards of two affiliates of the National Federation of the Blind, including state president of the Oregon affiliate from 1979-1992, and first Vice-President of the Wisconsin affiliate since 2012.He co-chairs the NFB’s National committee on library services, serves on the Employment Committee, and has represented the organization on several national bodies.
He is married to his wife Nancy of forty years, and enjoys learning, reading traveling and legislative activity.
